Dyeing fabrics with natural ingredients

Colors from nature, directly in your closet

Leaves, fruits, spices, and vegetables can dye fabrics in a natural, original, and completely sustainable way. A perfect activity for giving new life to t-shirts, scarves, or tablecloths.

🧺 Which fabrics to use

Cotton, linen, and silk absorb natural pigments better. Avoid synthetics: they don't retain color.

🌰 What to use for dyeing

Turmeric (yellow), beetroot (pink), red cabbage (blue-purple), coffee (brown), onion peels (gold): a true vegetable rainbow!

🔥 How to prepare the color bath

Boil the chosen ingredient in water, strain the liquid, and immerse the previously soaked fabric. More time = more intense color.

🧪 Fix the color naturally

Use natural mordants like vinegar or salt to help the color last. After dyeing, let it dry in the shade.
